About Diamond Rio

Diamond Rio Members

The members of Diamond Rio are Gene Johnson on mandolin and guitar, Jimmy Olander on lead guitar and banjo, Brian Prout on drums, Marty Roe on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Dan Truman on keyboards, and Dana Williams on bass guitar. All six members are songwriters, and have composed most of the band’s material.

Discography

The band’s first album, Diamond Rio, was released in 1991. It was a success, reaching platinum status and producing three Top Ten singles: “Meet in the Middle”, “Mirror, Mirror”, and “Norma Jean Riley”. The band won the Academy of Country Music’s Top Vocal Group award in 1992.
In 1994, Diamond Rio released their third album, Love a Little Stronger.
The band’s fourth album, IV, was released in 1996. The first single, “That’s What I Get for Lovin’ You”, peaked at number two on the country charts.
In 1998, Diamond Rio released their fifth album, Unbelievable. The first single, “How Your Love Makes Me Feel”, peaked at number four on the country charts.
In 2001, Diamond Rio released their sixth album, One More Day. The album’s first single, “One More Day”, was a number one hit on the country charts. The album’s second single, “Beautiful Mess”, peaked at number five on the country charts.
In 2002, Diamond Rio released their seventh album, Completely. The first single, “I Believe”, was a number one hit on the country charts.
In 2009, Diamond Rio released their eighth album, The Reason. The single “God Is There,” was a country song of the year.
In 2015, Diamond Rio released their ninth album, I Made It.

Awards and Nominations

Diamond Rio has released nine studio albums and has sold more than 10 million records worldwide. The band has charted 32 singles on the Billboard Country Music charts, including two Number One hits and nineteen Top Ten hits. Diamond Rio has also received ten Grammy nominations and won four Country Music Association. They were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in April 1998.
