About Dierks Bentley
Early Life
Dierks Bentley was born on November 20, 1975, in Phoenix, Arizona. Bentley’s father, Leon Fife Bentley (August 16, 1923 – June 1, 2012), was a bank vice-president and country music enthusiast who often took his young son to see live shows. Growing up in the nearby town of Tempe, Bentley developed a love for country music himself and learned to play guitar. He also began writing his own songs as a teenager.
Personal Life
Dierks Bentley married his high school sweetheart, Cassidy Black, in 2005. The couple has three children together: sons Knox (born 2013) and Jordan (born 2010), and daughter Evalyn (born 2008). In 2017, Bentley opened a restaurant and music venue in Nashville called Whiskey Row.
Career
Bentley’s self-titled debut album was released in 2003 and spawned the hit single “What Was I Thinkin’.” His second album, Modern Day Prodigal Son, was released in 2005. Bentley continued to churn out hits throughout the 2000s with songs like “Free and Easy (Down the Road I Go),” “Feel That Fire,” and “Sideways.” In 2010, he released the album Up on the Ridge, which featured a more traditional bluegrass sound.
In 2012, Bentley released the album Home, which featured the hit single “5-1-5-0.” The album won critical acclaim and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Country Album. In 2014, Bentley released his seventh studio album, Riser. The album’s lead single, “Drunk on a Plane,” became a massive hit, reaching number one on the country charts.
In 2016, Bentley released his eighth studio album, Black. The album featured the hit single “Somewhere on a Beach.”
In 2018, Bentley released his ninth studio album, The Mountain. The album’s lead single, “Living,” was a massive hit, reaching number one on the country charts.
