Personal Life
Gary Allan Herzberg was born and raised in La Mirada, California, to Harley and Mary Herzberg. To ensure that the family would focus on music, Allan’s mother scheduled music lessons for him. By age thirteen, Allan was playing in honky-tonks with his father. After graduating from La Serna High School, Allan began playing in bars in the evenings with his band, The Honky Tonk Wranglers.
Allan has been divorced three times. His first marriage was to country singer-songwriter Tracy Taylor. Allan’s second marriage was to model Danette Day. His third marriage was to Angela Herzberg, who died of suicide. His fourth wife was Molly Martin.
