About Lee Brice
Personal Life
Brice was born on June 10, 1979, in Sumter, South Carolina, the son of Carleen and Kenneth Brice Sr. He has a younger brother. Brice was raised in rural area outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. He attended high school at North Stanly High School in New London and played football. Brice later enrolled at Clemson University on a football scholarship.
Brice has been married to Sara Reevely since 2013 and they have two sons and daughter together, Takoda (born in 2008) and Ryker (born in 2013) and Trulee (born in 2017).
Musical Career
Brice began writing songs while at Clemson. In 2006, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee to begin his music career. He got a job as a songwriter for Curb Music Publishing. Brice has written songs for Jason Aldean, Keith Gattis and Cowboy Crush, among others.
Brice signed with Curb Records in 2007 and released his debut single. The single, “She Ain’t Right”, peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. A second single, “Happy Endings”, was released in August 2007 and peaked at number 32.
In February 2010, Brice released his debut album, Love Like Crazy. The album’s title track was co-written by Tim James and Doug Johnson. It peaked at number 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart and number 45 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album’s second single, “Beautiful Every Time”, was released to radio in October 25, 2010 and peaked at number 37 on the country chart. A third single, “A Woman Like You”, was released in March 2011 and became his first Number One hit on the Country Airplay chart in May 2012. Album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In early 2011, Brice began working on his second album, Hard 2 Love. The album’s lead single, “Hard to Love”, was released to radio on May 14, 2012 and peaked at number 1 on the Country Airplay chart in November 10, 2012. It also became his first Top 10 hit on the Hot Country Songs chart, peaking at number 4 in September 2012. The album’s second single, “I Drive Your Truck”, was released to radio on November 12, 2012 and became Brice’s second Number One hit on the Country Airplay chart in February 2013. It also Nominated the Best Country Solo Performance at the Grammy Awards. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album platinum.
Brice’s third studio album, I Don’t Dance, was released on September 9, 2014. It debuted at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 5 on the Billboard 200, selling 39,000 copies in its first week of release. The album’s lead single “I Don’t Dance” peaked at number 1 on the Country Airplay chart in August 2014. The album’s second single, “Drinking Class”, was released to country radio on September 2014 and peaked at number 1 on the Country Airplay chart in February 2015, giving Brice his sixth number one hit.
Brice’s fourth studio album, Lee Brice, was released on November 3, 2017. The album’s lead single, “Boy”, was released to country radio on June 2017. The album debuted at No. 7 on the Top Country Albums chart and No. 36 on the Billboard 200. Album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Brice’s fifth studio album, Hey World, was released on November 20, 2020. The album debuted at number 8 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, making it his fourth consecutive top ten album. It also debuted at number 45 on the all-genre Billboard 200. The album’s lead single, “One of Them Girls”, was released to country radio on April 20, 2020 and peaked at number ten on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified the album gold.
