Charley Pride is an American country music singer, musician, and guitarist. He is known for his baritone voice and for his work as a pioneer in the genre of country music. Pride was born in Mississippi in 1934, and he began his musical career in the 1950s. He released his first album, Country Music’s Greatest Hits, in 1967. Pride has won numerous awards throughout his career, including three Grammy Awards and nine CMA Awards. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000.
